Active Balance is a complementary health and wellness center located in Coastal North County San Diego.  It is their mission to provide the best in complementary wellness care to our clients. They specialize in Chiropractic, Massage, Acupuncture, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and Pilates.

Kimberly Zick has been training in the Pilates method for the past 5 years.  She is a certified Pilates Trainer through the Physical Mind Institute and Long Beach Dance Conditioning.  Kimberly has also completed the Health and Fitness Science certificate program at UCSD and is a certified personal trainer through the American Council of Exercise. She is also currently training to teach on the Gyrotonic Expansion System.  Kim’s strong background and love for ballet and dance have inspired her to become a pilates and gyrotonic instructor.

Lateral Raise on l Exercise Ball with Inner Thigh Squeeze

Start by straddling the Exercise Ball, keeping the knees directly below the hips, and gripping onto the  Power Weight Balls. The arms start extended downward and forward of the body, palms facing inward. At the same time, squeeze in with the knees and raise the arms to the side then overhead. The arms remain rigid throughout the movement. When the arms are at shoulder level, it is important to twist the palms upward before bringing the arms together over head. Release the squeeze and slowly return the arms to the start position. Repeat for sets
